Memories

by Ellen Doreen Loegering

Strange, I know we met before,

But I can’t remember when.

I feel I’ve known you deep and sure,

You were more then just a friend.

I felt it when your eyes met mine,

That you have loved me too,

A feeling lost a long, long time,

A spark of hope renewed.

I’ve known your gentle soul before,

The warmth of your embrace,

We stand before an open door,

That goes beyond our faith.

The heartbeats pass, the door shuts tight,

This time it will not be,

But it was grand to see that light,

Reflections of you and me.

Life is renewed and love comes round,

Time, the endless treasure.

What once was lost again was found,

Not even death is forever.
